In addition to the "Total Available Towards Trip" (payout of $1,250 to $3,300) shown above, if the IISP member is also participating in the graduation track of the Akron Jewish Community High School, then additional funds will be granted towards the trip.
Note that these funds, up to $3,300.00 are meant to be a significant subsidy, but may not cover the entire cost of an approved trip. For example, fees for NFTY Israel Summer Trips now range between $4,700 and $5,750, and that rates will probably increase by the time an IISP member reaches grade 10.
The Lump Payment Plan alternative has a lower cost, but is paid one time up front. For example the family of an enrolling third grader could pay $790.00 one-time lump sum, or pay $130 x 7 years = $910.00 over 7 years. This example would receive $3,300.00 towards trip that may be taken after tenth grade and up until age 26. See plan for full details.
To be eligible for Temple Israel IISP, the family/students must be members "in good standing" of Temple Israel. Each child should be registered separately; please fill out a separate application form for each membership. Mail application, with check for $130, or with the full lump sum amount (see above chart) to Temple Israel. Make all checks payable to: The Jewish Community Board of Akron -IISP. Mail payment and application forms to: Temple Israel -Attn: IISP; 133 Merriman Road; Akron, OH 44303. Deadline is January 15th of each year, received at Temple Israel.
Contact: The Jewish Community Board of Akron (JCBA) for specific information, or for a copy of the full IISP plan document, at 330-869-2424. We are especially pleased to acknowledge the generous support of the Irving J. & Ruth B. Olson Israel Scholarship Fund at the JCBA in providing the IISP funding for Temple Israel.
