Elaine Jaffe
became the second woman president of Temple Israel. During her administration, Mitzvah Day was established which was a big success in the entire community.

Keith Mirman
is an accomplished person in the home remodeling field. He has helped the Temple for many years with their building problems and was honored recently for his long service to the Temple.

Scott Jaffe
operated a computer company until it was sold. He is now part of the Akron Library Board.

is a stock broker for Merrill Lynch.

Andrew Jaffe
worked for his uncle in a chemical supply company until it was sold. He also received a law degree at the University of Akron.

was an attorney who also served as legal counsel for the Alside Company.

was a practicing pediatrician in Akron for many years.

Milton Wiskind
was an official with Myer Industries and served for many years on the Akron Jewish Center Board. He was a strong advocate for fiscal responsibility in the Jewish community.

Jerome Holub
was the only person to be president of Dapper Dan, the Touchdown Club and the Summit County Sports Hall of Fame, all sports organizations. He was also president of the Akron holocaust Committee and the first honoree of the Akron Bar Association Senior Lawyer Award. He also received the Professionalism Award from the local bar and an award from the national Association of Chapter Thirteen Trustees for service to the community. Jerry was a co-founder of the Akron Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.

Leona Sacks
became the first woman President of the Temple. She was a very active worker in the Temple Sisterhood and was its president from 1958-1960.

George Korman
worked the U.S. Post Office.

Herman Arenson
was an Akron attorney.

Dr. Jack Schwartz
was a dentist.

Dr. Reuben Pliskin
was an outstanding surgeon. He was seriously injured in World War II but recovered and became prominent in the medical field in this area.

Edward J. Rabb
was an attorney in Barberton and also ran several movie theaters in the area. He also served as President of the Temple Brotherhood.

1962-1964
Ben W. Holub
was a community activist. He was also a practicing attorney who served as a draft appear agent during World War II and was a past president of the Jewish Community Federation and the Jewish Family Service on two different occasions.

Robert Moss
was a prominent attorney in the area and was also president of the Akron and Ohio State Bar Association. He was the first Jewish attorney to receive the Sir Thomas more Award from the local bar association and was also inducted into the Akron Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.

was president of the Bear Furniture Company.

Irving B "Babe" Bennett
was the principal of the IB Barnett Company in Barberton and later established a bank in Barberton. He served Akron as president of the Rosemont Country Club and of the Montrose Club Inc.

was a scrap metal operator.

Nathan Koplin
was a prominent Akron attorney who served as an Akron Municipal Judge and alter, as Probate Judge of Summit County. He also served as president of the Akron Jewish Center and of the Jewish Family Service.

Marvin Perelman
operated Marvin Interiors in Akron and was in charge of the Temple Endowment Fund for many years.

1951-1952
Julius Darsky
operated the Golden Age Distributing Company. He also had the Pepsi Cola franchise in Akron and was a renowned soft drink mogul throughout the country. Julius was a past president of the Akron Jewish Center, Rosemont Country Club and the Jewish Federation of Akron.

Willard Bear
was an official in the Bear Furniture Company. Later, he became a stock broker. He was also a past president of the Akron Jewish Center and the Jewish Federation of Akron.

1940-1942, 1944-1950
Merryl Sicherman
was an Akron attorney. In his administration, J. Marshall Taxay served as Rabbi of the congregation. Rabbi Taxay was renowned orator and did much to revitalize religion in the Akron area after World War II.

was a realtor in the Akron area.

Albert Buxbaum
was a very active community leader and was also a past president of the Akron Jewish Center. He operated a rubber products business in Canton for many years.

Henry Fuerst
was a prominent lawyer in the Akron area. He also served a president of the Jewish Family Service.

1909-1911, 1921-1933
Louis Loeb
operated the J Koch Company, a clothing store on South Main Street that was in business for many years until it closed in the last part of the 20th century. During the Depression years, it was a struggle to keep the Temple in operation, but Mr. Loeb's presence was a big factor in its continual progress. During his administration, Rabbi David Alexander was hired.
