A Teacher Retires

It is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement from the Temple Israel Religious School. I want to thank the students, parents, staff and faculty for giving me the opportunity to teach your children Judaic studies for the past twenty years. As the saying goes, the years have certainly flown by!

It seems like only yesterday that I met my first class of third graders! Since then, I have taught many different subjects to grades 3-6. I have learned so much from the rabbis, the school directors and my fellow teachers, as well as the students themselves! I hope that I was also able to make a difference in my students’ lives. People have been asking me what I plan to do with my Sunday mornings, and, besides being available to take weekend trips, I plan to sleep in! I will still be an active member of our congregation and look forward to seeing the students and their families at services, holiday celebrations and other events!  B’Shalom, - Janet Silverman
