The Sanctuary rocked to the surprise appearance of singing sensations at the Purim celebration on March 21. Rabbi Lipper, who donned a kingly ensemble, joined fellow staffers, Carrie Shkolnik, Michael Hood and Rory Sanders, with vocal additions by Michael Neumann and Bobby Adler, to entertain with Purim parodies during the hilarious retelling of the Shushan exploits of Mordechai, Esther and friends. Eileen Schonfeld critiqued the performers and roused the crowd to applaud and yell for their favorites. She was “too” kind, in many instances! The large group then continued the festivities at the Shabbat Shelly dinner, enjoying tabouli, hummus and other Mideastern favorites, prepared by Michael and Laura Hood.
